What will we do ?
North Wiltshire Partnership will work with others on:
- Supporting the vitality of our communities
- Improving access to public transport
- Championing the provision of community facilities & services
- Encouraging & supporting business start up
What is already happening ?
A wide range of groups and organisations are delivering work that contributes to improvements in this theme, some examples include:
- Wiltshire Police will seek to improve the economic viability policing presence.
- North Wiltshire District Council is promoting a Young Enterprise project providing funds and opportunities for young entrepreneurs
- Through the village shop advisor Community First is supporting the development and production of Parish Plans and working with communities and local partners to take forward local projects in response to emerging issues
- Wiltshire County Council is promoting the availability of public transport and providing funding to support services where they are important to promoting the economy and regeneration.
- Promotion of the economy and regeneration is key to the promotion and the availability of public transport.
- The Libraries Service is supporting and enhancing basic skills for employment through a number of initiatives including Skills for Life, access to online courses and the ability to apply online for jobs.
- Service providers in North Wiltshire including Westlea Housing Association, support the local economy through use of local contractors and suppliers
- Partners including Co-operative Futures are working together to facilitate the development of social enterprise initiatives
- North Wiltshire District Council is working with partners to support the management of our town centres.
