- Particular groups including older and young people are isolated and unable to access service due to problems with Public transport provision
| Good Transport facilities are essential to meeting the needs of everyone who lives and works in North Wiltshire's rural locations and market towns. It is important to make sure that everyone, particularly those who are vulnerable or rurally isolated, are able to move around freely and safely, whilst also protecting the countryside. |

What we will do
North Wiltshire Partnership will work with others on
- Establishing what can be addressed at a district level
- Identifying suitable community transport provision
- Lobbying for affordable and integrated public transport
- Addressing transport provision as a way to improve access to services
What is already happening
A wide range of groups and organisations are delivering work that contributes to improvements in this theme some examples include
- Wiltshire Police are working with the Highway Authority to reduce the number of casualties on North Wiltshire roads including operations to target poor driving and speed reduction and drink driving campaigns
- As a part of their Agenda for Action Wiltshire Assembly of Youth are working towards increasing the adult age on public transport to 18
- Wiltshire Rural Transport Partnership works to reduce social exclusion and to improve access to services and facilities through the development and support of community transport services such as community mini buses and wheels to work
- Wiltshire County Council is committed to increasing the availability of passenger transport and to make it easier for people to get access to the services they need
- Wiltshire County Council are researching the feasibility of a country wide off peak fare discount card for young people
- Partners are continuing to research and experiment with demand responsive transport in North Wiltshire such as the Wigglybus and Taxibus service
- Council’s in Wiltshire are working together to increase the levels of walking and cycling
- Wiltshire County Council is working with partners to reduce the impact of traffic on local communities – particularly HGVs
