so what will the partnership do?

This website (and corresponding booklet) sets out a picture of North Wiltshire and highlights some of the areas that the Partnership will focus on. It is not a specific plan of what the Partnership will do and how. The way in which each area of importance is addressed will depend on the issue or theme. Action plans will be developed to provide this detail.

There is a huge role for the Partnership as an advocate, a champion and a lobbying voice. Many of the issues raised on this website (& corresponding booklet) can and will be improved by a shared focus of resources at a district level.

In some cases Partners who are the responsible service provider will commit to putting resource to areas in direct response to key areas highlighted within this website (& corresponding booklet).

The Partnership has agreed its main role and purpose, these are supported by comprehensive terms of reference which detail how the Partnership operates.

The Partnership will

Fulfill a co-ordination role-making the best of what we have in North Wiltshire.
Influence wider decision making processes and will provide a consultative and lobbying voice on key issues affecting the district.
Act as an advocate and champion of issues and changes
Perform a Communication and monitoring role - what is planned to happen and what has happened.
Act as a broker - by moving issues to the most appropriate level to influence action.
Maintain the links between North Wiltshire Partnership and other partners and partnerships
Take opportunities to test ideas and provide support to explore new ways of working.
Provide a working link to Wiltshire Strategic Board and the community area Community Planning Partneships.
Share their knowledge and learning with each other and communities.
Deliver sustainable success - not just the quick wins.

The next stage for the Partnership will be to develop plans for action, these will set out in detail what will be done and by whom in response to the issues raised in this website (& corresponding booklet). The plans for action will plan specifically for both short and long term gains, and will be developed by imvolving a wide network of providers, groups and organisations from across North Wiltshire.
